Lord, how wonderful it is to see our community members working with the Mission to service those in need. What a lovely sight it is to see the love, each and every holiday, spread to those that are without their families. Praise God for those that you have led to us, to help with their hands this holiday season.

BOLM Roots for the SEAHAWKS!

 

The LifeChange program residents at the Mission got in the Seahawks spirit last night, supporting our football team by passing out free coffee and hot cocoa to eager fans in Pioneer Square. What a great opportunity for our men to serve others. God is good!

WE ARE THANKFUL!

Thanksgiving is just two days away, and we are so thankful for all of our dedicated volunteers and for all of the food donations that have been coming in. What a wonderful city we all live in - where people care enough to act (with acts of kindness by volunteering during the holidays - and with acts of gifts - financial and otherwise).

Annual Banquet Was A Huge Success

 

Our Annual Banquet, held at the beautiful Museum of Flight in mid-October was a smashing success - made even more meaningful by first-hand testimonies from our LifeChange program residents. Our guests were in awe of just how far this group of men have come. It was an amazing night - generating $100,000. Some of the money will be used to put in 40 new beds - making our overnight guest count 150!

THANKSGIVING - It is Nearly Here!

Our volunteers continually bless us with their servant hearts. Thanks for continually working, supporting, loving and praying for the Bread of Life Mission. We are able to feed the hungry and lift up the broken to the Lord along side the many helping hands of our dedicated volunteers. May God bless each one of them! Thanks be to you all.

It's 4th of July - LifeChange Outing Is A Nice Release

BOLM gave the program guys an Independence Day treat doing what guys love doing, playing ball!  This was at the Alki Community Park and was such a great afternoon for joy, and relaxation. Praise God for some old fashioned fun.

It is rare that we take the time to sit down and really HEAR someone's story - from beginning to end. That is one reason the staff at BOLM is always so inspired and motivated - we get to truly hear from our guests, and learn about our LifeChange program men through their personal testimonies. BOLM is instrumental in changing their journey entirely. We are the beginning of their next chapter, a better season that is bringing them back to God - and putting them on a path to reach their potential, without addiction and homelessness. Frank Jackson Joins BOLM Team

We are excited to welcome Frank Jackson as our new Program Director. Frank brings with him more than 12 years of experience working at the Tacoma Rescue Mission. He is passionate about serving God. He will be a leader for our LifeChange men, teaching them - through the Genesis program - to overcome addiction and serve the Lord.

On any given day at the Bread of Life Mission, you'll see a handfull (or more) of dedicated volunteers giving us their time, energy and love. They are doing God's work, right here in Pioneer Square. They are truly champions for this organization and we are so grateful for their continued efforts each and every day. Praise God for you, and thanks for all that you do to serve.

5th Annual Homeless Veterans Day - A Big Success!

 

More than 1,100 people were served during our 5th Annual Homeless Veterans Day event, held on Memorial day. It was a wet afternoon, but spirits were high. A big thank you to our guest speaker,

Memorial Day - 5th Annual Homeless Veterans Day - Is Almost Here

More than 1,500 men, women and children are expected to be in attendance at the Bread of Life Mission’s 5^th Annual Homeless Veterans Day on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27^th from noon to 4 p.m.

“We are so thankful to those who have served our country and have fought for our freedom. We want to honor them and let them know they are not forgotten,” said BOLM Executive Director Willie Parish. Guests will be served a complimentary BBQ lunch, enjoy a special message from guest speaker, Chaplain William O. Barefield (LTC-R), Retired United States Army, and will enjoy a great sense of community. I Corps Honor Guard will be on hand to support the special event.

Bernard gets local attention for a changed life!

Bernard – A Transformed Life Featured on King 5 News! Homeless and broken, Bernard walked into Bread Of Life Mission nearly two years ago wanting a transformation. He went from bank robber to a true believer and follower in Christ. He now lives his life through the Lord’s direction, and has also reignited a relationship with his two sons. His life’s story was featured on King 5 News on May 8, 2013. Praise God for another life changed for his glory. Drive By Fooding Brings out nearly 275!

On the third Saturday of each month, Bread of Life Mission, LifeChange program men and a handfull of volunteers head down to City Hall Park to serve lunch to the homeless community. This is a chance for us to give back, and reach those that are living on the streets, and not inside our walls at BOLM.

It was a beautiful day, with a large showing of 274 people.
